This 64 year old patient underwent an immediate DIEP flap to reconstruct her right breast after mastectomy. Reconstruction was performed on the same day as mastectomy to reduce the number of surgeries, improve the patient's quality of life, and accelerate progress towards complete recovery. This is the patient's result after 1 surgery. Some patients choose to undergo a second revision procedure to refine the results of their reconstruction.
