Am I a candidate for rhinoplasty?
While some minor cosmetic changes can be achieved with a non-surgical nose job using dermal fillers, most clients will need a more in-depth surgical procedure that yields dramatic and long-lasting results. Rhinoplasty can be performed on patients of all ages, provided their nose has finished growing (for teens) and that they are in good mental and physical health. Good candidates are non-smokers who are free from any uncontrolled medical problems that might interfere with their treatment. They have a realistic, positive outlook towards their surgery based on a private consultation and physical evaluation with our team.
What will my rhinoplasty recovery be like?
Rhinoplasty is performed under anesthesia, so you will need a friend or family member to drive you home and look after you during the first stages of your recovery. Your nose will be packed with gauze, and you’ll have a splint in place for the first week. Pain medications will be provided to help ease any discomfort.
You will see swelling and bruising around the eyes, nose, and cheeks. These symptoms will be at their worst during the first few days, and then they will gradually begin to subside. You should keep your head elevated to minimize your swelling and promote proper blood flow.
Clients can typically return to work within a few weeks, provided their job is not physically taxing or strenuous. Intense workouts, heavy lifting, and aerobic exercise should be postponed for 3-6 weeks.
